I didn’t have to look far to find my new granola blend flavor.  As a matte of fact, it found me.  When a friend of mine suggested I experiment with coconut and pineapple not long after the store opened, I thought “well there you have it!”  What a nice tropical blend this would make, and just in time for summer.

There’s a lot of sampling of granola that goes on in my line of work.  Last fall, before the launch of the business, I had lined up a group of beta  testers around the country who tried several different versions of the granola blends that you are eating today.  I passed around baggies of granola to friends and neighbors to collect their opinions.  It has been no different with my newest blend.  When I went into test bake mode a few weeks ago, I handed out samples of it to people who walked into the store.  I tried a spicier version, I tried a sweeter version.  I tried it both with nuts and without.  It turns out that the “winner” blend uses a sweet-but-not-too sweet granola batter along with coconut, almonds, and dried pineapple and mangoes.

It’s a great breakfast blend, tastes great in milk for cereal, and also pairs well with yogurt, or is delicious straight out of the bag.

I intend to package it for retail and add it to my shelf by the first week of June, but in the meantime, I’m offering it in 4 oz bags for free, with any $20.00 in-store or online purchase (no coupon code necessary with online orders).  This offer is good through Monday May 26th.

I hope you get to try it and tell me how you like it!

Happy eating, ya’ll!
